Missing design elements: collages

When installing Movie Edit Pro Premium 2018 (v17.0.1.148 {UPD3}) you need to install the free additional content by clicking on Install Extra Content.. on the Help drop-down menu. I however had a similar problem to jeff-garnano [https://www.magix.info/us/forum/missing-collages-and-backgrounds--1192018/]. Where were the design elements - collages?

I tried downloading the free additional content several times (6Gb+) to find out the Design elements on the Effects drop-down menu does not work. I can only assume that there must a bug in that part of the drop-down menu system. This needs to be rectified.

The odd thing is that when installing each part of the additional content the progress bar stated that it was 'Repairing the Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium content title'. All parts of the additional content downloaded and installed without any other error messages so I assumed that it had installed these components somewhere in the software program.

However, I stumbled on the fact that the Design Elements are now located in the Templates Tab section and not the Effects Tab as was in my previous version (Movie Edit Pro Plus 16hd).

I am using Windows 10 Pro. My PC has quad core Intel processor with 4GB of memory. I am a novice in the use of this software program.

Hi

Welcome to the forum

The new layout does catch one out as to where things are, however it does not take long to find things and you have the additional option of of being able to mark effects and templates as favourites by clicking the heart icon - see image below - in the appropriate effects/transitions/collages etc panes.

Depending on your level of experience with MEP 2016, it may be worth watching John CB's basic editing tutorials - they do refer to MEP 2016 however the principles are the same for 2018.

Movie Edit Pro - Basic Editing - Part 1

Movie Edit Pro - Basic Editing Part 2 - Cutting and Trimming
