MMM 17 Premium Update error

robrut14 wrote on 2/1/2013, 10:06 PM

When I try to update the MMM 17 Premium program to get rid of bugs and what not, I get an error saying... "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you are running. check your computer's system info. to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact your software publisher."

The weird thing is... I have windows 7 (64-bit). So I shouldn't be getting this error. I have updated the program beffore and I haven't had this problem. Please help! Thanks!

Hi

I get the same when using the Online update.

Check which version of MMM you have - the latest I can find for MMM17 is 17.0.2.30.

Mine is at version 17.0.2.30, however the online update seems to think it is not and tries to download the last update, throwing up the error message.

If your version is 17.0.2.30 then you are up to date.  I doubt there will be any more updates to version 17 as it has been superceded by MX and 2013..

Thanks man. That was the issue.  I am also having major Latency issues. I have been messing aorund with the buffer rates and what not and can't seem to figure it out. It's causing my song to skipp, stutter, then finnally the sound will completly cut out and I have to restart the program for it to work again...this happens every minute and it's super annoying. It did not use to do this until I had to reinstall the program (Music Maker 17 premium). Now it's almost impossible to continue to edit my song using the ASIO driver and when I use my MIDI keyboard. Could you help? It's extremly annoying. THANKS SO MUCH!

Hi

Have you seen this tutorial by nihon94 - http://www.magix.info/uk/how-to-solve-latency-problem.online-training.130215.html.

The skip-stutter problem depends to some extent on the computer spec and how many tracks are having to be 'rendered' while you are trying to record with the MIDI kbd.

If you have many tracks then one option, I know it is messy  ,  is to build the project up in sections.

Export all the current tracks, start a new project, load the exported file and record the MIDI then export twice - all the tracks and just the midi,

Repeat the above process use the exported composite to record the next track eg vocals - this way you are reducing the load on the computer.

Thanks again. I think I will try that. And yes I have seen that tutorial by nihon94. Is there any other ways to correct this problem considering the program did not do this before I had to reinstall windows which lead to me reinstalling MMM 17? It just seems weird that it didn't do this before and now it is. I'm trying to figure out whats different from when it used to run fairly smoothly. If there are any other tips it would be greatly appreciated. If not I will just have to stick with the exporting many times option. (which I want to avoid if possibkle). Thanks!
