I have Magix Move Edit Pro 2016. I saved a project from an older version: Magix Movie Edit Pro MX Plus. However, when I try to import my project neither version will load it. I get an error which I have attached. If I attempt to load it manually by choosing the "folder" option on my error it tries to load then crashes. I've also included video details. What do I do? I worked so hard on this?!
When selecting the folder option did you then browse to that folder and click on the file it is trying to find?
If not do this.
Also it is not good practice to store files on your Desktop - they should be in your Documents folder - Movie Edit Pro will have set up folders for them - they should be in Documents/Magix or Documents/Magix Projects.
The error message you show refers to the .mov file that is clearly part of the project, but the Properties screen you show refers to the .mvp, the project file that MEP creates when you carry out any work on a video file; it is NOT the same file as the one in the error message. In and of itself it contains NO video or audio, it is simply a data file containing instructions on which section(s) of a specific video file are to be used, in what order, which transitions or effects have been selected etc., etc.. When you export your video (create the final version) MEP uses these instructions to create that new file, without altering your original video file itself in any way. So, any further "editing" of the projects ALWAYS requires the original video file, in your case the .mov.
My suspicion would be that you have moved the .mov file whilst leaving the .mvp file on your desktop. Hopefully you have not deleted the .mov and it is still stored somewhere on your computer!

OH! I hope I haven't deleted it. It will take a few days to look at it but will let you know. I think the only other files I saw were my original video I pulled off my camera and two .mov.H0 files. Are the .mov.H0 files it?
Also thank you John for your folder suggestion. I didn't even know it set up folders for my files.
The files with the .HO extension are not the actual .mov files, I'm afraid. You need to do a search on your whole computer for "O come to the altar.mov".
You mention "my original video file..". Theoretically, this should be the file you need. As I wrote before, whatever changes you make whilst "editing" have no effect whatever on the file you downloaded from your camera; the "exporting" process creates a brand new file, in whatever format you have selected, containing only the footage you have chosen to use, with any effects, transitions, etc., that you choose to include, whilst still leaving your original file untouched.
I found .mov file and it loaded. However, when I press play no video or sound plays. Just a black screen.
I pulled a project I originally created on the 2016 edition and no problems. Everything pulled up and played. This project I am having issues with was done on the old MX Plus version. No video, no sound - nothing.
