Movie does not export

Mark-Cave wrote on 9/7/2020, 1:13 PM

Using GoPro *.mp4 files dragged and dropped onto the timeline. Made a 15 minute movie from various clips and music. Save file as a *.MVP then tried to export as a *.MP4, *.AVI, *.MPEG. None have worked. Close down Magix, reopen, reload movie and it plays in the timeline. File shows it as only 624kb.
I have made many, many movies up to 45 minutes long with previous version of Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013, but this new one Magix edit pro premium is having issues. Help!

Using Windows 10 home with plenty of RAM and disk space and processor.

Hi Mark.

I'm a bit confused.

The project is playing in the timeline yes?

You use File /Export Movie / Video as MPEG-4? Yes.

An MPV file is only an instruction set. It still needs the original clips to make an export from.

Then you get a dialogue box with export settings for export path and export file quality settings.

Click OK and then get a box showing the export progress.

At the end you get a file that is too small and has no content. Yes?

I'm just trying to get to grips with your work flow.

Ray.

Sorry Mark. Have you used MediaInfo to see your files attributes? Frame rates, codec used, bit rate etc?

If you don't have a copy then it is a free download. Use it to look at one of your Go_Pro clips. See if you can post the resulting data here.

Is this the latest Go-Pro8?

The data from the file should look like this.

So, that's the thing. I do not get the file export pop up block. MAGIX tells me to uncheck the "hardware acceleration playback" in settings which I did. Still not working. The MPG file shows up with zero kb attached to it. Very weird. I can play the movie within Magix, but unable to export. Not very handy.

Yes, I did install all the extras. The program was initially downloaded via the internet, but then my laptop died. I reinstalled with the additional purchase disk, added the extras, verified credentials, and everything within the program seems to work fine. I can't figure out where the export settings are not triggering the pop up during export. I would do a screen shot, but doesn't look like I can print it within this window.

The only info I can find in that file that strikes me as odd is the 11.988 (12000/1001) FPS frame rate. That seems exceptionally slow.

Hi

Can upload a short - 10 15 sec video from the GoPro to a file sharing site such as Dropbox for us to test.

As @CubeAce the frame rate is abnormally slow - is this supposed to be a slow motion video clip ie recorded at 120 fps?

. . . .previous version of Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 . . . .

What is the version number as found under Help, About... and variant - Basic, Plus or Premium are you using now, which export preset are you selecting and are you changing any of the settings in it?

What is the export codec set to in the Program settings, Import/export tab - it should be Default if not what does it say

Hi

. . . . Where can I find some sort of export file/program?? I'm starting to think that might be missing . . . .

There is no such setting in the program settings - the export options are those located under File, Export movie .

Still no word back from MAGIX help.

About ready to dump it and go back to my 2013 and just eat the costs. This is very frustrating!

I take that back. It is updating now. We will see if it corrects the export problem. I will let you all know. Thanks much for all the input. Like I said, I was pretty good with the 2013 version. Lots of really cool movies and long ones at that. Really want this to work!

Problem solved! New update finally installed (took awhile), but movie export screen worked and I'm finally able to post. Thanks guys!
