Are you sure you mean MEP 11 from 2006?

If so then I am surprised you managed to get MEP 11 to run on Windows 8.

This version is not compatible with Windows 8 and this could be one of many incompatability issues, another known one is likely to be no recognition of the DVD drive.

There is no option but to upgrade to a Windows 8 compatible version eg MEP 2014 or 2015.
