Movie Edit Pro 2013 Claiming it can't find the files.

So I have this Samsung laptop, manufactured in about 2010, it runs on Windows 7, with a 1tb hard drive for my D: slot. Today I pasted together a short film that I have been grinding to finish for 6 months now. I get everything all finalized and saved, looks good, plays smooth, ready to export. Then I decided to shut my computer down, to let it cool off before I exported. But once I turned my computer on, Magix was broken or something (I eventually fixed the issue by taking the videodeluxe.dll out of its folder) So once I fixed that, I decided to open the project. Now it is lengthy, but I 've made 20-40 min short films on it before. But once I opened it, it gives me this message

All the video files are sitting on my D: hard drive, I have not moved them at all, ever. Now I've clicked the folder option and manually led the program to all 311 files, but once I'm done nothing shows up! And the orange marker leaves a trail across the timeline when I drag it. Please I desperately need help, if there is any!

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

First, I think it goes without saying that MEP 2013 is now, in software terms, quite an "old" version.

However, just to clarify your problem; are you saying that MEP does not see your video files, even when you choose the option to select the containing folder? Using Windows Explorer, can you see those files? If the files are there but MEP cannot see them, I think that points to your project file being corrupted I'm afraid.

OTOH your decision to "take videodeluxe.dll out of its folder" is not one I have ever seen recommended and is not one I would personally consider doing! What happens to MEP and your project if you restore that .dll?

I suspect that full step by step details from you of exactly what you are doing may help us to help you.

One other thought: although old, have you checked that your version of MEP (which one, by the way, Basic, Plus or Premium) is fully up to date?

Hi

. . . . I've clicked the folder option and manually led the program to all 311 files, but once I'm done nothing shows up! . . . .

Was this after removing the dll file?

I would advise you to run a repair on the installation to replace missing files - Control panel, Programs, Programs, Programs and Features right click Magix Movie Edit pro 2013 (Plus or Premium depending on which version you have) and select Uninstall/change then Repair.
