govazell wrote on 12/5/2014, 5:11 PM

so I have recorded 1 hour and 15 miuets of me playing a Vidio game useing the Open brodcasting system (OBS)  and then had to convert the .flv file to .AVI useing the VLC media player, after doing so when imported to Movie edit pro 2014 the sound does not play.

I have tryed playing the file in VLC and windows media player and it has sound when done so (both befor and after converting) I have checked the seting in OBS and in the movie editor and found no reason as to why I am missing sound.

I am useing windows 8.1 64 as my OS

I have also tried useing some of the defferent options in the audio menue and such to no avail,

and so I turne to the comunity thanks in advance for any help

The problem may be the VLC conversion, so I would first try an alternative conversion program, such as SUPER, to eliminate that.

Hi Terry

Have Super removed the browser add-on from the installation, or added the option not to install, for the issue I reported in this post ?

Hi John,

Don't know. I installed mine years ago and it's always been clean. But as evidenced by the research I did for that earlier post, it may well be risky for fresh installs these days. Is yours OK now?

Hi Terry

. . . . Is yours OK now? . . . .

I have never used it since I post ed the warning - removal was very difficult however I did get rid of it after hours of manual uninstalling and numerous reboots .

I purchased a one off lifetime subscription to AVS software suite which has a great converter in it.

I also have Nero 12 Platinum suite - they made me an offer I could not refuse !  This also has a great converter and also a BD media player which I use.
