Movie Edit pro 2014 - Play while recording (while recording audio) doesnt work

dombat wrote on 11/27/2013, 5:55 PM

Recoridng audio via headset with "play while recording" checked doesn't seem to do anything.

The movie moves for about half a second, then freezes. The audio continues to be recorded and the program remains stable. When I stop rexording, the movie moves to the correct place where the audio stoped.

Is this a bug?

Try recording another way.

Go To the end of the film Make a recording with out any background noise. Drag it down to an empty timeline.

Cut it by Control+X . Put your cursor to the point to where your audio should start. Paste by Control+V .

Alter the audio on the original timeline either by ungrouping it and deleteing the original audio, or lowering the audio clip so you can hear the new clip that  you have recorded..

Hope that helps.

 Regards Pete

Hi

What is your full computer specification?

What format videos are on the timeline and what are the projects settings?

Johnebaker, my PC is Intel i5 8gb & 128GB SSD with Nvidea GTX650 TI Boost, so it's ok spec.

The timeline videos are WMV (created by Movavi screen capture) and AVI (created by Bluff Titler).

Settings are:

Playback tab:

  • Wave driver
  • Fast autoscroll
  • update in the background
  • spacebar stops at current position
  • change footage in high quality
  • load footage in the background.

My settings are exactly the same as in your screenshot.

One thing to add to my original question.

The soundtrack (which is a seperate MP3 file) does play, only the movie doesn't. I have tried moving the movie onto tracks above and below but makes no difference.

My suspicion is that there is a bug because the movie plays for about half a second. I have a variety of editing software and codecs so perhaps a codec/driver is cauing the issue?
