Hello - I let Movie Edit Pro 2021 Plus perform the latest upgrade, but now the program hangs during startup. You get the splash screen and the interface, but its non-responsive. Is there a way for me to proceed without a reinstall? Thanks
Make sure that the Movie Edit Pro program folders are checked 'Not to be scanned' by your antivirus program. There should be an exceptions to scan folders option within the antivirus program.
Some antivirus programs stop MEP from verifying it is a legal purchase and will halt the loading of the program.
I'm sorry you are experiencing these problems, but unfortunately:
I uninstalled the program, then reinstalled
may well have simply made the problem worse! Unless you took care to ensure that everything related to the former installation was removed - the default uninstaller cannot do this because some folders etc are created on first and subsequent runs of the software and so it does not know they exist - there is every chance that, as you seem to have found, the problem is not resolved.
If you would like our help to resolve this (despite your saying you are done with this program) try the following:
Find, download and install the free Revo Uninstaller.
Point it to your current installation of MEP and let it fully uninstall everything it finds. (Within its Advanced scan it will show you everything it thinks should be removed (files, folders, registry entries), giving you the option to NOT remove anything that you are concerned about, especially if you have any other Magix software installed, so check carefully what it lists.
Once it has finished, reboot your computer.
Retry the installation and allow the update(s) to install.
Hopefully, you will now have a functioning system.
No links I can find to tech support.....only links to more knowledge base topics
You have to read and do what it says on the screen and scroll down to the bottom of each page to where it says to ask Support and click on it, then finally fill in the form and submit. It takes 20 seconds plus the time to fill in the form - with the pertinent information, like your operating system and computer system details.
