I'm gobsmacked that after over 17 years, they are ditching the MEP name for the name of a recent competitor. Probably an attempt to reel in Vegas Users.

A little off topic. The NLE pie is always decreasing in size, while those vying for a slice of it increases. There are the free editors, many consumer editors, and semi pro and pro editors all looking for a slice.
I am at a point where there is nothing I've seen that will entice me to upgrade/subscribe. While all the features are great, most seldom get used. I have tons of effects with Boris Continuum, Ignite Pro, Newblue FX, etc... I don't plan on upgrading my cameras unless they actually break. The editors I have do all that I need personally. So where is the incentive to spend MY money on something "new"? Outside of "wanting the latest greatest", there is none.
Pro editors have their dedicated users who have the money, because that is how they earn their living. Consumers? We all know the positions we are in. Is that latest upgrade a necessity or a "want". Magix and others are trying to come up with new ideas to keep a cash flow happening with promises that we have no way of knowing they will fulfill.
I hope with a name change will come stable new releases.

Are you entering the email address used to register the software and the full serial number including the P3- and the hyphens between the groups of 5 digits?

I have tried in different ways. Neither works. The product serial number is invalid.
As @johnebaker mentioned, you have to copy the entire serial number you have registered, including the P3- and paste it in the window. I once tried to update without having include P3- and received an invalid serial number.

Happens to me too. (Yes, I copied the entire serial - including the P3 prefix)
It doesn't work for me anyway. I wrote to Magix support.
