Movie Edit Pro MX - problem with opening movie - Building Frame Table for quick MPEG Access gets stuck

buttz wrote on 1/15/2015, 1:29 PM

Had to reinstall Movie Edit Pro MX after a problem with my computer. Also installed all the latest internet updates etc... Had backed up a copy of a film to an external drive. When I try to open it, it says it is building a frame table for quick MPEG access and it should take about 30 minutes. Have tried a few times now and it keeps on getting stuck between 20 minutes left and 18 minutes left... so I cannot open it... I have Movie Edit Pro MX VERSION 11.0.0.42 Hope somebody can help. I have installed/uninstalled the program a few times now and it still doesn't work. Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can give me.

Hi

The issue is not with the software but one or more video clips at some point of time into the movie.  It is either corrupt or their is an internal problem with the mpg files.

You need to identify the file(s) which is causing the problem.  Try playing them with a media player and see if any fail.
