Movie Edit Pro Plus Updating issue

Martin-Clothier wrote on 6/11/2022, 9:30 AM

Hi - I am trying to update to the latest release of Movie Edit Pro Plus from 19.0.1.23 to 19.0.2.58 - when I launch the app the update prompt comes up, but then gets replaced with the below

Renew the Update Service - Start Installation - and when I click to start install nothing happens

I can do Update Online from the menu and start the process but it fails with Installation Error

I have installed latest window updates and I am on Windows 11 and I have the .NET framework patched up to May-22 (KB5013628) - any patches available for this issue please?

Thanks - I see there is now a 365 version, I'd like to go up to that I think once this is sorted and I can finish my latest project.

Hi

. . . . I am trying to update to the latest release of Movie Edit Pro Plus from 19.0.1.23 to 19.0.2.58 - when I launch the app the update prompt comes up, but then gets replaced . . . .

v19.0.x.xx is Movie Edit Pro (MEP) 2020 - so not the latest release of MEp now called Movie Studio 2022.

. . . . Renew the Update Service - Start Installation - and when I click to start install nothing happens . . . .

It does, however you do not see anything happen, however if you are repeatedly getting this message, then either:

  1. your Antivrus is blocking it completing.

    or

  2. It is possible that your .NET installation is in a non uniform state in which case see this Support article .

Do note that the Movie Studio 365 version is available on subscription basis, monthly or annual - see the terms and conditions here for more information.

If you go for the single purchase you qualify for an upgrade discount, and get the same program as 365, however not the additional packages and features that are available in the 365 version.

Thanks John, I seem to remember having this issue before and did fix the Visual C++ libraries - I think Magix also sent me a link to a patched updater? One of the links in the article you referenced is dead BTW, but I found the MS page OK. I'll give it a try when I get some time and report back.

Hi

Thanks for feedback on the link in the article - I will let Magix know.
