It would be very helpful if you could read this post and give us all the information listed there about your computer and the exact version number of MEP which you have.
HWA "Hardware Acceleration" is normally provided by your CPU, but it does need to be an Intel with integrated graphics, preferably at least an i7 of recent generation.
Your i5 processor supports Intel® HD Graphics 630 and should be found under File / settings /program / Display Options / Device; and further down in the same section under Video Mode with Standard mode (Direct 3D, hardware acceleration) and the box under that set to Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630.
Try plugging your monitor into the motherboards monitor output. That should make the Intel graphics chip active and select-able. Or try from the bios but only if you know what you are doing as bios settings can be motherboard specific.
. . . . Magix really should improve about graphic card use! . . . .
This is not a Magix issue, it is the GPU manufacturers ie Intel that needs to enable the integrated GPU to be used without having to plug a monitor in, and AMD and NVidia who need to stop there GPU's taking over control and in some cases disabling the integrated GPU without asking.
Sometimes I think the only purpose of user forums in general is to stop a degree of contact to the companies that produce these products. It can be an intimidating and complicated learning curve to get to grips with these programs and we all start somewhere. I was in the same boat as you not so long ago and if it wasn't for the help of the two Johns here along with Jeff, Peter, and several others I'd still be there myself.
It's good to put something back into the community that helped me. I hope you enjoy getting used to MEP as I have and it's nice to reply to someone that knows how to ask a polite question rather than rant about how useless the program is. (Which in my opinion it's far from.)
If you do not have 2 monitors you can buy an HDMI monitor emulator (google it) for a few bucks on Amazon, or whatever, which will enable both GPU's if your bios allows it and it is set to "Auto" (usually default) for "Multimonitor GPU".
Some members have both GPUs connected to the same monitor with 2x inputs which does the same thing as the emulator and I think there may even be a way you can setup a "virtual" monitor in Windows "Graphic Settings".
