Movie Edit Pro Premium - Crashing on MP4 Export

adamwright1989 wrote on 2/16/2017, 6:31 PM

I have recently purchased Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium (with latest updates) and am running it on Windows 10 64bit (with latest updates). I had some crashing during editing, but it passed and worked after a few crashes. The footage is screen recordings taken by the Magix software, with voice over. Everytime I go to export the video (MP4, Full HD 1920x1080, 25FPS), the program crashes and restarts itself mid-way. It seems to behave better when exporting in non-streamable MP4 format.

Any ideas anyone? I didn't expect crashing on simple tasks in the new version.I have used Magix Movie Edit Pro since V11. Anyone else having crash issues?

Hi

. . . . It seems to behave better when exporting in non-streamable MP4 format. . . . .

No issues with exporting streamable mp4 at 1920 * 1080 25fps in streamable format here using either the Intel HD (Default) or MainConcept codec. My preferred option is to use the Intel HD codec - it is faster.

Which codec setting are you using in the Program settings, Import/export tab - Default or MainConcept ?

Have you have installed an all-in-one codec pack eg K-Lite? If so then this may be causing the issue - try uninstalling it.

Hi Adam,

If you remove say the second half of the timeline (saving the result with a new name, of course) , does it still crash on exporting? And so on; IOW can you isolate one or more objects that might be implicated?

Try adding a new movie (tab) and copy/pasting the original to it before deletion. Close, reboot and restart. That's occasionally worked for me when I'm similarly stumped.

I'm exporting successfully with what seem similar settings. Take a look at my Program Settings first to compare with yours. They're not all relevant but for completeness and possible future use:

And Export Settings:

(I have installed MEP 2017 Premium but not yet using it in earnest.)

Failing all of the above, and John's suggestions, if you can get it down to a very small (non-confidential) project that still crashes on export, use File > Backup > Copy project and media into a folder, zip it up and upload it to a host site (I use Dropbox for instance) so that we can see what you mean and maybe try to reproduce it.
