Movie Edit Pro Video Problem

Problema-tic wrote on 3/30/2017, 6:39 AM

Urgent, I need help. I have a problem with my Movie Edit Pro (2014). I tried to place a picture in a track (where you place videos, music or something, I don't know what you call it). But it does not show the picture, nor the video or anything I tried to place. But if it is exported, it shows the video/picture. How am I able to edit everything I want to edit if no images are shown? 😥

Hi

. . . . I tried to place a picture in a track . . . .

We need more information:

  1. Movie Edit Pro 2014 version number as found under Help, About . . .

  2. What format is the picture - jpg, png, bmp or what?

  3. Computer specification - include processor make/model, graphics card chipset or make/model, RAM hard drive size and free space.

  4. Windows version - if 10 was this an upgrade from 7 or 8?

  5. Was MEP 2014 OK with images etc on the timeline?

  6. What changed on the computer just before the problem started?

@johnebaker, these are the informations I gathered:

1) Version 13.0.2.8 (UDTP)

2) Format of the picture is jpg. Haven't tried other picture formats yet.

3) Processor : Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N3700 @ 1.60GHz 1.60GHz
Installed RAM: 4.00 GB
RAM Hard Drive size (C:) : 419 GB
RAM Hard Drive free space (C:) : 281 GB

4) We bought the laptop in Windows 10 already.

5) MEP 2014 was OK before with images. But in the upper-left part of the software (where it previews the edit made), I just discovered today that there are no images shown anymore. I was editing music in MEP these passed days with black screen and then export it. Then I tried to put an image in my music and there's the problem.

6) Umm... Crash log, or something? A notification popped in my screen as I open MEP. Sometimes, if I'm editing for a long period of time continuously, it crashes, then there's the notification when I open MEP again. This is what MEP says in the notif:
"The last execution of the program caused an error. Important information about this error was written in a file....

The status of the last project was able to be backed up after the error occured. The project can be restored." There's a note after that.

"Note:
It's possible that the project can only be opened with errors or incompletely.
In this case, load a back-up copy via 'File > Load backup project..." to continue working. The program automatically saves backup copies at regular intervals."

I tried to restart the software but nothing changed, the problem is still there.

I don't know if this case is normal, but it's new to me. I just need to pass an important file in school and I don't have much time to have an experiment xD. And also, I'm that expert user of this software 'just yet', and I still need guidance. :D

Hi

. . . . Version 13.0.2.8 (UDTP) . . . .

You are missing many patches for MEP 2014 the last patch was 13.0.5.4 try updating by selecting Help, Online update.

Check the monitor is active by selecting Window, the Preview monitor option should have a check mark against it - if not click it.

. . . . if I'm editing for a long period of time continuously, it crashes . . . .

I think this may be due to either the missing updates, or the laptop is being overloaded - especially if you have HD or Full HD video on the timeline - ensure that you save regularly.

. . . . Crash log, or something? A notification popped in my screen as I open MEP . . . .

Did you send the crash log to Magix? Once you have done this the program should not nag you again unless it crashes.

HTH
