Movie Studio 18 & 2022 Platinum does not import 32 bit audio wav files

Eugene-Smith wrote on 5/15/2022, 9:14 PM

In Movie Studio 2022 Platinum I can import a .wav audio file that is 24 bit but if I try to import the same file but as a 32 bit .wav file, the file does import correctly as it a bunch of pops and clicks and then actually corrupts the source wav file itself. I have imported and used 32 bit audio wav files in Movie Studio Platinum 17.0 with no problem... it didn't work in Movie Studio Platinum 18 nor this 2022 version. I've spent a lot of time troubleshooting this issue. Please correct this issue as I like to use the higher resolution audio file format. Thanks. Eugene Smith I use Windows 10, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Movie Studio 2022 Platinum v.21.0.2.138

@Eugene-Smith

Hi

. . . .  I've spent a lot of time troubleshooting this issue. Please correct this issue as I like to use the higher resolution audio file format. . . . .

Please note this is a user to user forum and as such we cannot fix anything.

The use of 32 bit floating point WAV files are not supported in the most common video formats, 16/24-bit 48 kHz audio in various encoding formats are the most widely-used.

In practical terms using 32 bit audio files sources offers no significant advantage over 24 bit files with respect to video formats.
