Movie Studio Platinum 13 activation fails after Windows reinstall (Err

akira-hanai wrote on 12/8/2025, 2:07 AM

I previously registered Movie Studio Platinum 13 through my MAGIX account, and the serial number is shown as already registered, which is correct.

However, after my PC crashed, I reinstalled Windows 11 and reinstalled Movie Studio 13.
Now the software cannot be activated anymore.
I always receive this message:

“Error 12002 – Unable to connect to the registration server (timeout)”

Because the old Sony/MAGIX activation server may no longer be available, I cannot complete online activation.

I need help to activate Movie Studio 13 again.

Could you please provide:

an offline activation method, or

a manual activation code, or

another way to activate Movie Studio Platinum 13 on my new system?

Thank you very much.

@akira-hanai

Hi and welcome to the forum - albeit the wrong one.

Vegas products, except for Magix Movie Studio 18 to 2025 versions, have their own forum, link is at the bottom of this page, .

See this post, if that does not help, I would suggest you post your question there
