Movie Transition Fades as separate tracks

faisal_ahmed786 wrote on 4/27/2018, 2:11 PM

If I go into Fades > Movie Transitions I see a number of fade effects, including Light Leak which I really like.

In the old version of Video Pro, if I added this to a track the light effect would become a separate track under the transition. I could then move it around to make it fit exactly how I wanted.

This no longer happens. The light effect is now part of the track and I cannot find a way to take it out. Is this possible?

Hi,

Yes, they changed it. What you can do is to import the mxv file onto track 3, stretch it (change the speed) to the length that you want, give it a fade in/fade out, and you will get a similar effect. The mxv files for the Movie Transitions are at:

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Video Pro X7\Plugins\MovieEffectTransitions

and the Translation_EN.ini file will give you the file names corresponding to names under Fades. There are undoubtedly other tricks that you can do as well. Try experimenting.

You can also look at how it was done in the previous version, and then do the same thing using the imported mxv file.

Hi, I can see Program Files but not Program Data in Magix. However it does come up when I search for it under my computer.

@faisal_ahmed786

 I can see Program Files but not Program Data in Magix

If you literally mean what you have written the problem is that you need to be looking for MAGIX in the Program Data folder, not Program data in the MAGIX folder. Check carefully, even copy the directory listing that John CB gave and paste it into a Windows Explorer address bar; that will take you directly to the specific folder.

Hi, I meant in the Magix software. However i've dragged it into the timeline from 'my computer' and it works. Thanks.
