MP4 Playback issues

lotrfan727 wrote on 3/28/2015, 12:45 PM

My imported MP4 files are having serious issues - they play back very chopped and occasionally have a small audio distruption. I have tried all of the MAGIX tricks for optimization - prozy files, lightning bolt, etc. I'll emphasize that this is JUST one file - no other files, no effects. It has happened to all of the files I have tried. The video is 1080p MP4, and it plays fine on Windows Media Player. And it's not just the playback for editing - I tried exporting it and the exported video was just as bad, and maybe even a worse. I've tried cutting the length of the files down, but with no luck.

An intersting thing - no matter how many times I restart the program or import the files, the disruptions occur at the exact same times, with choppy footage or occasional blackness.

I'm using Movie Edit Plus 2015 on Windows 8.1, i7 processor with 16 gb RAM.

Hi,

Do you have the latest patch?

Did you try exporting to the Magix format, mxv, and then importing it into a new project?

Hi

Do you have any of the 'All in one' codec packs eg KLite installed?

No, I just got the Mpeg-4 codec from MAGIX. Should I look for external codec packs?

I updated the program, but unfortunately that didn't change anything. Is there any way I could make the file an mxv without using MAGIX?

Hi

IMHO you should not install any all in one codec packs.

Should have asked this question before - is it only in the preview monitor that the palyback is choppy?

If so exporting to mxv should give smooth video.

What is your full computer specification?
