MPEG-4-Codec

Don-Panzik wrote on 11/21/2018, 9:48 PM

I've been using earlier versions of Movie Edit Pro for many years. I just purchased the upgrade of Premium version 18.0.1.213. I can't get it to load any MPEG-4 files. When I try to load a file I get a pop up that says "The program needs access to a file with MPEG-4-Codec..." It asks if I want to "Activate Online" but the link doesn't do anything.
This installation is on a new computer with Windows 10. It never had a previous install of Magix.
I'm stumped.

Hi Don,

This looks similar to the bug I’ve reported but which has still not been resolved. See my posts:

https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/cannot-use-my-mp4-codec--1216784/

i submitted a ticketed email via the Support page and suggest you do the same.

They appear to have a URL that now allows you to put your computer ID in and your previous order number and it will email you an activation code automatically.

https://ap.magix.com/servicecenter/unlockev1.php?pCountry=US&ComputerID="PUTYOURCOMPUTERIDHERE"

Remove the Quotes and content of it and replace with your computer ID, then it should have you login and get things done.

@Wizechatmgr

Welcome to the Magix forums.

Did you notice you had posted to a rather "old" thread, to which the OP has apparently not returned? Presumably he solved his problem. But thank you for posting the link for other users who may experience this problem.

Yes, but this is the first thread on the MPEG4 codec that I ended up at, so I figured it would be a benefit to others that ended up with this thread as their result when doing a google search if the additional info were added.
