Why will my magix movie edit pro 15 not load mp4 files on to the editor ? It says it cannot read the format ..and I haven't been requested to buy the mp4 codec.

Do you mean Movie Edit Pro 15 or 2015 - if 2015 please use the full name to avoid confusion with the previous version 15.
What is the version number under Help, About . . . . ?
Analyse one of the mp4 clip that will not load with MediaInfo - post the data here from the Tree view - you will have to export it to a text file first - File, Export and then copy and paste the contents of the text to your reply.
