I installed update 104 for Movie Edit Pro Premium 2022. Now When I export my project to MPEG-4 format, the output plays upside down. This never happened before? Is this a bug? Is there a fix?
In my case it is yes… i have now exported the part that was showing upside down seperately, flipped it back, put it back with the original video and then it exported correctly…but doing that for each vidéo is not really efficient…and it only happens when I cut the movie …
I found an answer. All I had to do was right-click on each of the video segments and choose "Create new frame table" from the drop down menu. It only took a few seconds but when I exported the project to mpeg-4 the video was fine. The explanation given was that it only happened when the incoming video was faulty and I was using iPad camera video (.mov) files, but I never had a problem before, they always worked great before the update. Anyhow, it works now when I take the extra step of creating new frame tables. Hope this helps.
Small update, as the new frame tables option does not work for me , and if the whole video is upside down (as sometimes its only partly upside down… I re-use the exported mp4 in Magix , turn it straight and export it again. Not ideal but it works… making yt video’s on a daily basis is unfortunately difficult this way…
Sometimes these problems can be a file problem or hardware related or hardware driver related. Difficult to say when people don't give specific information. There may be no appropriate 'update' to come in such instances.
If this is really a problem for you you should start with specifics and as much information on your system build, components, driver versions for graphics and operating system build and version as possible.
Then maybe forum members can help you or at the very least confirm a possible problem with the program that the developers would take seriously.
With as many specific details as possible, I'm having a similar problem. I exported an MP4 of about 25 video clips all recorded on my iPhone. About 5 of the clips are upside down on the exported file. I too also installed the update. Any new information to fix or prevent this problem in the future is much appreciated.
To avoid issues with mobile phone footage what works for me is to use the correct orientation so that the rotation flag that is added to the video file by some, though not all, devices is 0.
In the case of my mobile, a Samsung/Android the correct orientation, for non selfie clips, is landscape with the camera lens on the left when you are looking at the screen.
Portrait mode or with landsape with the lens on the right sets the orientation flag to a non zero value.
You may need to determine the correct orientation for you phones.
@Patrick-Hallowell Could you install Mediainfo and open the Text view, then paste the details of one of the files here. Alternatively, put one of the files onto Google Drive or Dropbox for us to have a look at.
Also, a bit more info would help. Were the 5 problem videos all Portrait? Upside down Portrait?
