crash wrote on 1/29/2012, 9:42 AM

I'm importing MTS files into MEP 17plus.

The images are perfect, but there is no audio. Is this a codec proble, ? If yes can I import the Codec into MEP? Where?

If not can anyone help, what ids the best way for me to import the files so I have audio and visual??

I am using a card from my CanonXA10, I transfer the files onto my PC, then i copy the file accross.

Can anyone help pls??

Hi,
I use VDL 17 Premium, I think it's the same product.
In the Bar Menu we have : Task /Activate additional Functions/Activate Codecs (through the Internet and to be registered).

I got a Panasonic Camcorder (AVCHD [1920x1080 progressive mode 50i/s]) with a Card and use a USB Card Reader to import the files on my PC.
To read .MTS files in the Time Line in the native mode, you must have a powerful computer (I7 recommanded).

I knew your problem with my old computer even with Windows 7 and I5, now it's OK!

My config :
Operating System
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i7 970  @ 3.20GHz 27 °C
Gulftown 32nm Technology
RAM
12,0 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 801MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. SABERTOOTH X58 (LGA1366) 25 °C
Graphics
PL2473HD (1920x1080@60Hz)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 440

Thanks for that, but my problem is that MEP actually warns me on the import. It then asks me if I'd like to convert the file to let it run smoother, I then say yes. It imports the file, buty then there is no audio.

When I don't convert and bring in the full HD file there is audio, but off course jumpy.

It seems that MEP is missing an audio codec, for whichever format it is converting it to.

Hello,

First, in the Bar Menu click on Help and Online Updates...
You'll get the last Updates (AVCHD and others Codecs if available)
[I only use MAGIX updates, nothing external]

Try a New Project with the format of your Camcorder
For example my Camcorder
Movies Settings : PAL FullHD 50p 16:9 (1920x1980; 50Fps)

I can Import my .MTS Files in the Time Line without "Readjust", nothing is asked.
I can read and work with these Files (audio and video) without problem.

At this point if your Files are jumpy or jerky I do think your computer is not enough powerful (Glance at my Config, I had those problems with my old computer Windows 7 Intel5).

Your can decrease the quality of your Project using Movies Settings, try to keep a model Preset (for burning or export) better than User-defined at the bottom of the list.

See you soon.

Charles

@Sebastian-Jedrzejewski

Hi

Please do not resurrect old topics for an old version of the program which is very different from the version you have.

Create a new topic giving details of your computer specification, program version number and MediaInfo analysis of one of the files you are trying to import - see this topic for all details required.
