Multicam issues

I'm using Video Deluxe 2026 Premium Version 25.0.1.248, and I am having difficulty with the multicam functionality. I have been able to process two separate camera tracks successfully, but when I add a 3rd camera track the functionality falls apart.

First: The feature always uses track 1 and 2 for the composite video and audio so I leave those open. Even with only 2 camera tracks the application tells me I don't have enough open tracks, so I open a 3rd track moving my 2 camera tracks down to 4 and 5 tracks, and then the multicam function works. When I try to add a 3rd camera it keeps wanting me to open more tracks. After adding about 3 more tracks it accepts them. In the preview screen it showed 3 cameras, but when I started switching between cameras all I ended up with was the opening video segment and then blanked out after the first switch, and my master audio track from camera 1. Now it just mutes 1 camera track and shows only 2 cameras in the preview screen.

My computer is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750HF CPU @ 2.60GHz (2.59 GHz) with 16GB RAM running on an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.

@Jordanm

Hi

This sounds like a workflow issue, try the following add all the camera videos to the project putting camera 1 on track 1, camera 2 on the next available track and so on for all cameras.

Then turn on Multicam editing, you should get the message

Click Yes and start editing.

I tried this and received a not enough tracks. I added 3 more tracks and got the same result.

Hi

From the image, it looks like the number of tracks, set in the project settings, is too low (8 ?), try increasing the value to 32 tracks as shown below

Once in Multicam editing mode you can add a further cameras up to a maximum of 4, by setting next available track to Source track - click the down arrow in the track header and selecting Multicam, Source track then add the video clip

Note:

  • VDL 2026 only supports up to 4 cameras
  • Empty tracks do not use any extra memory space

Thanks John I reset then to 32. Also, I uninstalled and reinstalled the software and it worked flawlessly with the 3 video tracks.
