I have Music Maker 14 and have used the sound pools provided with the programme to create a backing track for a song I have written. Can I use this backing track on a televised talent show?
Some times back I had confirmed through magix and I was told
Soundpool 9,10,11,12,14,15,16 Or Music Maker such as 11,12,14,15,16(Standard/Deluxe/Premium). Also the Synthesizer included in the Magix Music Maker could be used to create new composition. (do not need commercial license. They are Royalty Free)
However, any up version will need to buy a commercial license (available from Catooh).
Note: I am not a lawyer I am sharing what I have been told by Magix responsible representatives.

What nihon94 said was, anything prior to Soundpool/MM-17 is essentially an "unlimited" license and can be used commercially.
HOWEVER, even the "unlimited" license has limits - it cannot be used for advertising and/or in conjuction with a company brand/name.
