Just to give you heads up, No this music maker 17 will not work with windows 8, i just recently purchaesd windows 8 and the operating system will not respond to it. Also if you try to get in touch with magixs, you can forget that, its almost impossible. Not unless they read these post. Ive been trying for over 2 weeks to get in touch with this company to see if they have a patch to fix this. What really gets me i have been using an old version of this program from 1999 and its compatiable with windows 8 So magix you have my email and my account name and dont blame it on Microsoft because your programs arent compatible. Its your programming team who need to fix this. I payed alot of money and supported your company now i think its time for you todo the same!!! Sick of this and pissed offf!!!

Hi

MMM 17 is reported as being compatible with Windows 8 see here

However depending on other factors eg which version of Windows 8 and whether 32 or 64 bit, the CD/DVD writer, and audio chipset - there may be issues such as CD/DVD writer not being recognised, the sound card not being recognised or not all functionality available.

Probably better to upgrade to the latest version of MMM as well as a new computer.

John
