My Audiostudio16 all of a sudden failed to record.

My Audiostudio16 all of a sudden failed to record sound after clicking RECORD button. The timeline pointer would move down the timeline, but no sound was recorded; no modulation flux as pointer progressed down timeline window. So I updated to newer version, which abended during install proc. When launched now --- only error msg pops up indicating a failure. My current version is 16.1.2 (build 57) 64-bit.

Not sure how to request another download install from Magix.

Hi @Michael-Prindle, you can download the unpacked main (.exe) installer for SF Audio Studio 16 here..
https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/proxy/2596e27cee63df52dfcd/?link=https%3A//dl04.magix.net/2022/SOUNDFORGEAudioStudio16/SOUND_FORGE_Audio_Studio_16.1.2.57_INT_x64_230210_17-03_9FBFF8AD.exe
or you can log-in to the Magix service center, go to 'My Products' and download the Installation manager which also has the 32 bit SFAS-16 version and the other included software. In any case, you will still need to re-activate AS-16 with your serial code. But before reinstalling, I would recommend trying the 'File> Reset' tool and/or finding the cause of the issue. For instance, verify the record input source in Windows sound settings and the audio device type in SF "Options> Preferences> Audio" menu.

Thanks rraud, I'll try your suggestions. I sent the error msg attached to Magix, but haven't heard back yet.

And I can't do the 'File> Reset' tool because program won't launch. I'll try your other options.

Hi @Michael-Prindle, if you cannot open Sound Forge to access the 'File' menu, hold down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys whilst trying to launch SF. That will open the 'reset/clear cache' dialog.
