My computer crashes, when I am recording more than 4 tracks

Ok I've been asking these many times, and I still don't have an answer, My computer is Compaq presario CQ60,

CPU AMD Atlon X2, windows Vista, my problem is my computer chashes when I am recording MIDI, with 2 tracks no problem, but when I have more than 4 MIDI tracks on my proyect, the computer starts to do noises, and after that, sttoped to work, and I have to restart the computer, Do I have to get I better computer?

My cpu shows sometimes 80% of useage.

Hi

I suspect you are overloading the CPU on the laptop and the noises are  the audio card choking on 4 tracks of MIDI plus trying to paly other audio tracks.

My previous experience with Compaq laptops has not been good - tending to overheat when put under load , followed by a thermal shutdown or crash.

I would consider upgrading as your laptop is not sufficiently powerful enough for more tham basic audio recording as you have found.
