My software won't work even after I type the serial code correctly

I ran into an error a couple of weeks ago with my software that would not let me use my Movie Studio Platinum 13 software and trying to search up for answers with that led me to no fix so I uninstall the software. A week or two later of having to get a cd-drive just to reinstall the files I've ran into a new issue. Every time I open the reinstalled application it asks me for the serial number for my software which I have typed down correctly multiply times, it would then pop up with a notice saying the application would restart itself but then the same window would show asking me to type the serial number. I've typed different variations of the same serial number which give me the same result and I even downloaded the application online through my Magix account and still the same problem is happening. I am lost and I just want to get back to editing my projects so if someone has the answer please let me know.
