Hi,

See this tutorial.

J/L cuts are for the audio transitions to simplify making the audio of the second clip start before the first one finishes (J-cut) or the audio of the first video clip extend into the second video clip (L-cut). Take a look at the video on the Magix site that says, "NEW! Video and audio track

With a modern, flexible grouping

Grouped, yet with enough freedom: The new, flexible grouping options for video and audio tracks. Fit your individual tracks into a project without losing the advantages of working with grouping. The new J-L cut – a impressive time-saver for overlapping objects, for example, in documentaries with narration lasting several scenes."

If that doesn't help, let me know.

Hi!

Thank you for your answer!

The tutorial you shared explains very well the new "Move object contents" feature.

I also watched the video on the magix website about J-L Cut. The problem is : I do the same thing than what it's shown on the video, but the video and audio clip still move/change together. I can ungroup them and make the J-L cut but it's not like on the video from magix. On the video we can make J-L cut but still be able to move the video and audio clip as group.

Thank you! It Works!

There are some things to be careful about. Once activated on a clip, you don't need to hold down the Alt key unless you move the end back to the beginning in line with the video clip. Also, you can move the audio object independent of the video clip when holding down the Alt key, which could get them out of sync; watch out for this.

Thanks, I just got updates & noticed these options, the J-L cuts & the Move mouse tool, when i went to their page, I found the Move tool myself but you helped explain the J-L cut moving, On the Magix page it just shows a regular pointed mouse moving the tracks, I've used Magix for many many yrs but for a movie editing software firm the tutorial videos they provide are very limited or have i not found them yet? Is there somewhere, does Magix have a page that explains these things, ?
