New to Magix Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus and can't load movie

Hello. I am brand new to this software. Loaded it up, excited to just shorten a 3 minute movie I took yesterday and when I start the program, a screen comes up to import the movie, which I do, I select it, all looks well and brings me back to the program screen. At the bottom it says "initializing", but then nothing else happens. The movie that I "imported" is no where to be found. I have tried restarting the program and selecting a different movie but no matter what, I can't seem to get one loaded and to show up on my screen. What is the trick here that I'm missing? it is a .MOV file if that makes any difference.

Hi

You need Quicktime installing on your computer to import MOV files.

Also do you mean Movie Edit Pro 2015 - if so please refer to it as 2015 and not 15 to avoid confusion with the older version which is still used by a few members in the forum.

Thanks and HTH

I am using the older version. I got it as a present years ago, but just now loaded it since a friend took a drone video over my farm. I wanted to cut it at the end and make it a bit shorter. Just a 3 minute movie. Very simple thing I want to do but the movie won't load at all. I did reinstall quicktime just to be sure. :/

Hi

If your computer is running Windows 8 then there are some incompatability issues with older versions of MEP, eg your DVD burner may not be recognised and some functions may not work correctly.
