New update will not work on windows 7. It worked before I updated

rick-carr wrote on 9/27/2021, 6:44 AM

Worked before I updated , not certain what my previous version was but It says update allowed until 12/24/2021.

Can I roll back to previous version. or uninstall and reinstall previous version.

Where do I find the previous version to download?

I do not want to put windows 10 on this computer at this time.

I paid for the Magix software that worked on windows 7.

Hi Rick.

Magix has not released a version of Movie Edit Pro that is Windows 7 compatible for some time now so where did you get your original copy from?

Ray.

That is funny I have been using magix software for years and I bought all of it from Magix.

I have just reinstalled version 20.0.1.73 this was the version I used before the update and it works again and I am also using windows 7. So you are mistaken. Also Magix has been making movie edit for many years long before windows 10. I do not understand why you think other wise.I just wont let it update to the latest version. I do have it running on my other computer in the office and it is windows 10 and it has been updated to the latest update and it works fine. You are allowed to put it on two machines for personal use.

Hi

. . . . I have just reinstalled version 20.0.1.73 this was the version I used before the update and it works again and I am also using windows 7. So you are mistaken. . . . .

@CubeAce is not mistaken in his comment, due to missing information on the version of MEP you updated from / to, the assumption will be that you have updated to the latest version MEP 2022 - which is not Windows 7 compatible - this was commented on in your previous post here.

In addition you have not supplied the requested information on your system specification - please do so and put the information in your profile signature. This will help with further issues you are likely to encounter and enable more precise answers rather then the generalised answer you received above and in your previous topic.

. . . . I do have it running on my other computer in the office and it is windows 10 and it has been updated to the latest update and it works fine . . . .

See my reply in your previous topic I linked to above and as I commented in that post the Windows 7 computer may not meet the minimum specification for the newest version of MEP.

Windows 10 does support DirectX 11.1 and later versions, assuming the update was to MEP 2022 v 21.0.1.85, then it will work.
