No audio output from projects in Magix Movie Edit Pro plus

Hi, am not sure how to explain this but will try. Yesterday everything with Movie Edit pro plus was working fine. This morning i converted a VHS tape, and copied into "New Project" for editing. As usual i separated Video and Audio into two tracks. However, while i can 'see' the Audio track and and visual frequencies - cannot "hear" anything. Um. So closed that project and opened another that was working OK yesterday. Silence. Have tried all sorts of experiments, made sure that the 'mute' buttons on tracks and program are 'off', including the music "soundtracks" provided with the program. While i can 'see' the meter movement, no audio.

Can't be the sound card on computer - works fine with every other program - only audio silence with MMEPro plus.

Oh, also tried a 'test burn' to DVD of a project that worked fine yesterday - but no audio on that DVD either.

@Davvix

Have you opened the audio mixer to see if there is audio level showing?

Have you gone into project settings and looked to see which driver and outputs are showing?

Have you tried changing the audio settings within MEP after you lost audio to see if that clears things?

Re @CubeAce 's second point in particular, I've occasionally found that those two settings have somehow got changed inadvertently.

OK, well, here's another strange thing. Haven't changed any settings, but when i opened MMEpro this morning (Central AU time) ... everything is back to normal. Gremlins seem to be alive and well in Australia. 🌝

Thanks for your suggestions. Will have a look at them as well.

Thanks again.
