@Julian-Grant The genre templates usually are in C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker\29\SongTemplates

Is your folder empty?

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 11:09 AM

But, shouldn't they be preloaded in the interface? Do I have to load them? The tutorials on YouTube show the Genre Folder populated already.

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 11:12 AM

Just checked. Song Templates folder is indeed empty. Please advise.

@Julian-Grant I would suggest to reinstall Music Maker.

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 11:32 AM

I did. I reinstalled the copy sent once I got my Premium License. I uninstalled the FREE version and then reinstalled the Premium. What other solutions might I have?

SP. wrote on 5/13/2021, 11:34 AM

@Julian-Grant Maybe it helps if you go into the program settings and click on the button to clean up the store. This will delete the old cache.

Ok. It's worth a shot.

I just had the same problem, when I looked at "C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker\29\SongTemplates" I had a folder "SongMakerTemplates" This had all the files required so I copy and pasted them back into "SongTemplates" and restarted Music Maker. It now has the Genre in Song Maker

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 11:57 AM

May I ask where you had the file folder you copy/pasted? With thanks

Kevin-K911 wrote on 5/13/2021, 11:57 AM

Prior to this, after reinstalling Music Maker, I had to go to the far right downloads tab and reinstall the loops and packs

Kevin-K911 wrote on 5/13/2021, 11:59 AM

It was located inside "C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker\29\SongTemplates" , actual location is "C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker\29\SongTemplates\SongMaker Templates"

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 12:08 PM

I can see the files now but nothing on the interface. Will DL the Update and see if this makes any difference. Thx., Kevin K911 for all the help.

I'm stumped. I see the xml files now in the folder - but nothing in the interface. It's very frustrating. I've updated the software. Am not sure what to do now.

SP. wrote on 5/13/2021, 12:37 PM

@Julian-Grant Cleaning up the store didn't help? You can also try to select File > Settings > Reset program settings to default or logging out, restart Music Maker and logging back in.

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 12:46 PM

None of this worked. Reset to Default. Logged back in. It's a real mystery??

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 12:49 PM

Am doing another reinstall? Might as well.

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/13/2021, 12:56 PM

Full Reinstall. Still not working? Same problem as before.

@Julian-Grant I sent you a private message.

Sometimes I get confused but surely when you reinstall you start off by reinstalling the free version. Once that is installed you download and install all the additional content relating to Premium edition, which I assume includes song maker, from within the program.

SP. wrote on 5/13/2021, 1:44 PM

@Graham-Hawker But it looks like Song Maker is already installed or else @Julian-Grant wouldn't see the Song Maker GUI (and the missing templates). Replacing the SongTemplates folder with my folder didn't work. And deleting the MusicMaker.ini also did not work.

Thanks everyone for chiming in and helping. I appreciate the support.

This worked for me. Thank You!!! Apparently the devs somehow put the files in a folder when it's not supposed to go into a folder. Anybody else having this problem should copy all the files in SongMaker Templates up one folder into SongTemplates and it will be fixed.

Julian-Grant wrote on 5/14/2021, 6:57 AM

FANTASTIC. Me too. This worked. Kastewei, am in your debt.

SP. wrote on 5/14/2021, 7:04 AM

@Julian-Grant Nice to hear it worked. But it confuses me a little because yesterday I sent you the folder with the Templates already copied from "SongMakerTemplates" into "SongTemplates". Why didn't that work?
