No serial number for 'Vasco Da Gama 11 Essentials

On Windows 10 (64bit)

AMD 15DD Graphics

Hi

I purchased Movie Edit Pro Premium a few months ago and been trying to get to grips with the software since then. I'm getting there slowly. It's a bit of a learning curve at 75 (things take longer nowadays). But when I set up the software a product called 'Vasco da Gama 11 Essentials' got downloaded as well but I didn't get round to installing it until now. It keeps asking for a serial number that didn't get downloaded with it, so how can I install it in Movie Edit Pro if I don't have the serial number.

Anyone have the same problem.

Thanks a lot.

Michael.

It looks like you have it already installed so the icon is available to click on, in my case the software is still in a folder on my desktop and won't install. I only get to step 3 when it asks for the serial.

To be honest, I didn't know what this software was originally for so I went on Youtube and found out its a tracking software for sailors who want to display where they have been in the world and where they are going on their journey, Like a plotter with waypoints on a globe. As I don't have a boat and not a sailor I can't really say it would benefit me by installing it on my computer.

I apologize for wasting your time. I should have looked on Youtube before posting on the forum.

I'll be doing that in the future.

Thanks for your help.

Michael.

Hi Michael.

The icon appeared when I chose the instal packages option for extra content. These packages tend to appear within MEP once installed on the pc. I'm not aware of another way to instal a package.

Though that package appears on my list within MEP I have not installed it to run or activated it. I have no use for it.

VDG is Travel Route Animation software, however it is not just for sailors you can create routes anywhere by land sea or air - see the official video about VDG ?

You may also have Magix Travel Maps installed with Movie Edit Pro which is similar.

Hi,

You obviously didn't look very hard and you're way off. about this program being just for sailors. I'm not a sailor, but I have a kayak. However, I have travelled extensively, even just around the neighbourhood.

For example - Canada-Mozambique - I got lazy with the last leg and just plotted it on a map:

Edinburgh-Roslin - by car - to show change of vehicles:

Paris-London - by train - to show a difference when the train goes through the Chunnel:

Here is an example of a the car part of the route on a trip from Canada to the wilds of Siberia, still to be inserted into a full video of the trip, along with the plane portions:

And here is a complete video of my trip to Iran with the VdG route in it:

My very first tutorial showed how to use VdG with an imported image. It's excruciatingly bad.

Well blow me down ( not literally, lol ) it was the first and only video I watched thinking, well this is disappointing. I'll go back and download it in the extras.

Thanks a lot for the post.

Hi Michael,

Now for the bad news. I used, of course, the Pro version of VdG, and for mapping, Vasco StreetMaps. However, you can get high resolution maps using Google Earth and Google Maps and use the features of VdG to create your own route, animated vehicles or people, zooming, etc., like I show in my first tutorial.

Take a look at the site. It's expensive to move in and up.
