No sound when multitasking in Music Maker

When I open music maker 2013, I have no sound in any other program that I open after it, and vice versa. Is there some setting to prevent this? I'm using a windows 8 HP ENVY m4.

Did this just suddenly happen ? What have you tried to do to "fix" this ?....don't want to beat a dead horse ...

No, this has happened ever since I installed it. I have not done much to fix it except look through the settings of music maker looking for an option to fix this. I have not found anything though.

What other programs are yu opening after opening MM2013 ? are you trying to run the programs concurrently ?

I try to watch youtube videos, but never get any sound until I close music maker. Also, when j get a call on skype I can't answer and it says 'playback error'

I am guessing that you do not have a separate soundcard....not knowing what you do have or use, I would suspect an option issue either with your Magix settinngs or the audio file on your PC. Make sure you have all tahe patches current for W8.
