Two problems arose suddenly after I had been using MEP for several weeks on a daily basis. (And I have been using MEP off and on for five years.)
1. The timeline cursor does not advance during playback. At the start and the end of playback, it is at the correct position.
2. Also during playback, transitions, fades and scrolls happen at a very slow rate--about 2x per second. When I render a video, they all work fine. The current project is all stills, so these are all the action. However, going back to edit an earlier project from a month ago, I find that the video moves the same was as the transitions--2 frames per second.
I expect that somehow a setting has gone awry, but I can't find it. I've searched through the forum and have tried various remedies, such as adjusting resolution, rebooting the computer, resetting MEP to defaults, etc. No joy.
Program: Music Editor Pro+ version 16.0.1.22
Win 10 Pro version 1709

Intel HD Graphics 4000
I posted this yesterday but somehow it never went live.
Thanks!
25 March: After weeks of this weird behavior, I finally went into the registry to see if I could find any setting that could possibly have a bearing on the problem. I did not, so I closed regedit. (This is not recommended unless you have a good knowledge of how the registry works!) Then I went back to work. The problem has vanished! I don't know why, but apparently a bit of cleanup happened behind the scenes.
