None of the tutorials look like my version of MEP (version 18.xxx)

New user. Fresh program download. None of the tutorials look like my version of Magix Move Edit Pro (version 18.xxx). Instead of menus with words I get menus with those stupid icons. I am looking for the zoom pan effect (so-called ken burns effect) on still photos. I thought my version could do this. I can't even get off the ground.

Hi and welcome to the Community,

Did you get Plus or Premium? Did you update to the latest patch (18.0.1.209) and did you download and install the Extra Content?

Under Effects tab, where it says All, click on the popdown to the right, go to the bottom and select List view.

Under View/Animation, go down to Move and click on it. All of the pan/zoom presets will be at the right, assuming that you have Plus or Premium and that you downloaded and installed the extra content.

Thanks browj2 Are you suggesting that I need the $99.99 'plus' version to do the "ken burns" "Key-Frame" effect?

I purchased the $69.99 version which is Magix Movie Edit Pro Version (patch?) 18.0.1.209. Yes, I downloaded, updated, installed every patch and Extra Content offered during and after the install.

Hi,

I don't think the basic version does keyframes, which you will likely need. There is a comparison table.

On the Canadian Magix site, basic is going for 89.99$ CAD and Premium for 79.00$, Plus is 129.99$. I suggest that you get a refund if you're within the limit and get the Premium version. When did you buy MEP?

Interesting. Hard to envisage using MEP without KF.

This page provides a table:
https://www.magix.com/gb/video/movie-edit-pro/version-comparison/#c895538

But it's not clear just what element(s) of key-framing are included in Basic. There are two entries: one for 'Key frame editing' (supported) and the other for 'Advanced key frame editing' (not supported).
