Not a good update

So my software just ran an update (installation of new version with infusion engine). Now I can't access the program. It wants me to activate and register it, which for the serial number I have was done quite a while ago, and shows so via the website. When I try do it from the program, it can't establish a network connection for some odd reason. The only thing it allows you to do is exit the program. Can't even run it and try to do a manual activation from within. I am NOT happy. Wish I hadn't authorized the update.

It sounds like the problem is (re-)registering the program. This is a one-time process to allow for normal use afterwards.

Usually the problem arises when the program is unable to communicate with the registration servers of Magix. It can any number of reasons from site being offline to communication errors or problem with the program and/or client machine.

As we do not know the problem exactly, we can only advice you to try some of th esolution other users have tried with success in the past for same/similar problem.

  1. Try starting the program in Administrator mode to complete the registration. This is done by right-click on the program with the mouse. From the context menu appearing there should be an alternative stating Run as Administrator.
  2. Disable local Firewall on PC. Just for the registration, there might be an issue with the FW that stps the communication for the registration
  3. Temporarily disable Anti-Virus Software while starting the program to complete the registration process. It has been known that some AV software interfere with the communication required for the registration. Remember to enable the AV after registration.
  4. A combination of two or more of the above. Sometimes there can be a combination of issues, so more than one solution might be required.
  5. Reboot any equipment on the path to your internet. This might be WiFi Router, a switch and/or your Internet Modem/Router. Over time these equipment might build up "noise" that will be removed by a reboot.
