What I'm saying is Music Maker 2013 I think requires some type of external power source or something to run into the computer from to make it work I'm not sure man its Best Buy said it was time for some type of little amp or something

No, MM-2013 does not need an ""external power source". What you need may depend on what you're trying to do. From your previous post, I assume you want to plug in and record a bass guitar.

The best method for any purpose is to use an audio/MIDI USB interface. It is basically an external, high quality sound card with a variety of input and output jacks, which may vary depending on the model. Good audio/MIDI interfaces are not cheap, however there are alternatives.

You can get relatively inexpensive MIDI-to-USB cables, and for your purposes, a guitar-to-USB cable. You should check the website of your local computer/electronics retailer to find out what they may carry.
