Open projects created with Movie Studio 17

I had Move Studio 17 earlier that kept craching on me. As response to an in-app upgrade offer, I purchased and installed the "upgrade" to Movie Studio 2022 Platinum. To my surprise, I cannot open projects created with Movie Studio 17. I feel now that I was tricked into this upgrade as the price was not an upgrade price but more like a full price for a product that is more like a downgrade than an upgrade from Movie Studio 17. There is still no clarity about what is this 2022 prodct. I really would like to get my money back as this purchase was done based on a false advertizing.
