Over and out

Movie Edit Pro 2021 has been uninstalled here - once and for all. After several months, the software has decided that it will no longer correctly process mp4 files produced by Zoom. Impossible to trim. Sync problems left and rigght. Strangely enough, other video software handles the files without a hiccup. Until now, had overlooked the fact that MEP would not even open mp4 files produced by simple screen capture software. Have read various forum posts. Invariably, it's the customer's fault. It is indeed my fault for having purchase this software.

@yvanh

Hi

There have been several posts in the forum on this issue.

The cause of which is the Zoom files - see this comment.

. . . . other video software handles the files without a hiccup . . . .

Players may, video editors many do not.

. . . . Until now, had overlooked the fact that MEP would not even open mp4 files produced by simple screen capture software . . . .

A somewhat broad statement that is factually incorrect - MEP will open any files that are a encoded in a supported format.

MP4 files are not a video format they are a container file - the video and audio inside can be encoded using one of the many video and audio codecs - if the program does not support the codecs then the mp4 cannot be imported.
