"PICTURE SIZE"

rookiefilmmusic wrote on 7/21/2014, 3:18 PM

When I work on a project and save part of it to "Movie Edit Pro MX", I can retrieve it at any time and continue from where I left off. However if I try to save part of a project to a folder on my h/drive, when I go to retrieve it the picture size has been greatly reduced and there seems to be nothing that I can do to get the original picture size restored. Can somebody please tell why this happens and whether it is possible to maintain original picture size no matter where the project be saved?

Thank you

Ray

I am using MOVIE EDIT PRO MX which I am more than pleased with as it does everything that it claims to be able to do and more. It is just this annoying picture size problem that frustrates me

Hi

What is your h: drive - external hard drive, second internal hard drive or another device?

rookiefilmmusic,

I curious just what you did to "...save part of a project to a folder..."? Generally you save a full project as is -- it's just a set of instruction with pointer to the original images, clips etc. Saving only part sounds suspicious like you have exported part of your project as a new piece of video where everything is scaled to the export parameters.

Second possibility is if you have edited your pictures in linked photo editor -- MX stands for media exchange. In this case your project would IIRC contain pointers to the edited (and perhaps embedded) versions of your photos, not the originals.

Regards,

Carl

Carl & John

Your observations duly noted for which I thank you. I was really experimenting to see if was possible to save a partially worked on project to a separate folder on my ext h/drive and so no real damage has been done. What you say Carl does make sense. As of now I'll always save part projects onto Magix's own folder where they can be easily retrieved for continuing whilst maintaining all of their originality.
