Pixelan Creativease with MEP 2017 Premium

joserobles1941 wrote on 10/5/2017, 11:25 PM

Hi,

I would appreciate if someone could give me instructions on how to apply Poster Wise and Riseshine on titles. I would like something with more details than the instructions given in Spice Master Help . An example would be just great with either voice instructions or PDF something similar to the tutorials that JC Brown made for SpiceMaster. They´re just great !!!

Thanks in advance for any help anyone could give me,

José Robles

Hi José,

I almost missed this.

There is nothing much to know about these except by experimentation. It all depends on the effect that you are looking for, and the combinations and permutations are enormous.

Take a look at the Pixelan Help for each and then try everything out. Different combinations of the tools, like RiseShine with FlowTexture2 can change the glow, for example, to give a metallic look.

I suggest starting with RiseShine and try out everything until you find something that you like, then save it, and go on to the next. Make the text very large to work with because the RiseShine window is quite small. You can resize the text afterwards.

Below is a title using the font Calligraphic, bold, red, with RiseShine with a lot of gloss applied and FlowTexture to give it a metallic look.

The next one is a copy of the one with RiseShine but with PosterWise added. PosterWise changed the colour from red to a silver metallic. It also got thinner and there is a kind of blocky shadow.

You might want to make a project just to find title effects that you like. Copy the title a couple of dozen times, keep the background dark, and each time you have an interesting effect, go on to the next one. Don't forget that you can right-click on the title, Save as special effect (not Save as title template), and then load it whenever you need it.

Have fun with this!

Hi J. C.,

Thank you very much, Sir. As usual your help very appropriate and , may I add, very generous.

I have been experimenting quite a bit but somehow I needed a little bit of guidance and you just gave it .

Regards,

José Robles

Hi José,

My pleasure. If you need something specific, please let me know and I will take a look. I created one title that I liked using RiseShine, saved it as a favourite in Pixelan, and never bothered to try out others. It was interesting taking another look and I started a project to save some models so that I can refer to them later, select some, and save the completed ones as effects. It might be interesting to add some animation using keyframes and maybe try to get a couple of animated models using Blurbender.

Regards,

John CB

Hi John,

Thanks for your offer. Questions will inevitably arise while practicing and only when I find something I can not resolve by myself, I will resort to your assitance. But rest assured as I do not intend to overuse your generous offer.

Hi José,

Apparently there is a new patch for MEP 2018, 17.0.1.141, available that may have resolved the problem with the Pixelan transitions. I'm travelling and don't have 2018 on my laptop. Could you update and check to see if the Pixelan transitions show up somewhere?

Saludos,

Hi John,

Thank you very much for the information.

I have MEP 2017 installed, as well as MEP2015 so I won´t be able to do what you ask for. After many, attempts, which took me more than a week to acomplish , and after unsuccessfully trying to apply instructions given by Magix Support, I was finally able to solve the problem and this was accomplished uninstalling both MEP versions, deleting every trace I found of files containing such, and reinstalling them again with the original version, that is 16.0.1.22 for MEP2017 and 14.0.0.160 for MEP2015. On MEP 2015, Red Giant had mysteriously disappeared and reinstalling it again, it came back. And of course on MEP 2017, in Transitions, Pixelan is there, not in Effects like it was with the patch. Pixelan Creativease is in Effects , though.

I have decided not to update them again, sort of, if it is not broken, why fixt it !!! But mainly because I feel I do not have the commad or knowledge that you guys have. So I will stick to these two older versions until I have a better handling of them.

Best regards,

José Robles
