Play head marker option

dond10 wrote on 8/4/2021, 11:48 AM

I've had to redo this query as the main post has been taken down.

The query was concerning the action of the playback marker when start/stopping the video and the option in settings on the behaviour when using the spacebar to start/stop playback.

When the spacebar option in settings, is selected, the behaviour is what I'm used too in that the video stops and the arrowed marker is placed at this point.

On the other hand when the option is not selected I'm sure in X12 that when the video is stopped that the video in the program monitor would display your start position i.e. where the playback marker is. On my setup in X13 when I stop my video the video stops at that position and when I restart playback the video jumps back to the start position. See video. Is this how it's supposed to be?

Hi

That is the correct behaviour for when the option Space bar behaviour is unchecked, the moving bar returns to the location of the cursor.

Hi John

What about this behaviour - "On my setup in X13 when I stop my video the video stops at that position, Moving bar returns to the cursor location, and when I restart playback the video jumps back to the start position."

Hi,

The other thread was unstuck and is now part of the regular posts.

Yes, I see the problem, but I can't replicate it. Strange.

Hi Don

. . . .when I restart playback the video jumps back to the start position . . . .

Like John CB, I cannot replicate this either in VPX 13.

I have seen this behaviour before, and it has been commented on several times in the forum, for older versions of both VPX and MEP, released prior to 2015.

My video on my first comment shows this in action. I start and stop the video 3 times and each time it jumps back on restart playback.
