Portrait Videos

I'm working on a Movie Edit Pro project for my daughter and almost all of the videos she provided are in portrait mode. I've seen examples on television where the same video is blurry in the background so it shows on either side and fills the whole screen. What is this process called and does Movie Edit Pro have that function?

Hi,

I'm not sure about MEP basic, but Plus and Premium (recent versions 2020, 2021) have EdgeEffects under Templates, Design Elements that allow you to do this assuming that you downloaded and installed the additional content. Just select the portrait mode video on the timeline and apply one of the effects.

Which version of MEP do you have and is it basic, Plus or Premium? See under Help, About.
