Anirban,

Not much to go on -- what program vreson? Whast sort of material being preloaded? etc

My only thought is you're using MEP 2014 with the proxy editing feature. I've had a brief play with this on the demo version and have come to the conclusion that trying to create proxies on the fly as different clips are brought into the timeline gets my definite NO WAY! I've un-ticked 'Automatically create proxy files' under movie settings and only after just about everything is loaded do I tick the box.

Now the proxiel will be created... Depending on what I've loaded (as originals) the proxy creation can take some time -- time well spent having a cuppa or a good red!

 Regards,

Carl

Hello Carl,
Thanks for the annwer.
I am using MEP 18 and when I try to check all the edited videos (clips) in the timeline and enter the space (for cursor), it takes too long for showing the work i.e. Preloading.
I use a Dell Inspiron with 6GB RAM.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards.

Hey Anirban,

Preload delay is pretty much a fact of life with NLEs unless you have a lot of RAM and a very fast CPU.  I personally do not like Dell products very much (I worked for Hewlett Packard for almost 30 years).  Not that my personal loyalty is that important, but I do think that Michael Dell has been dropping quality on the products as part of his bid to take the company private and reduce the share price.  JMO.  How long are the videos you want to preview, and how long are they taking to preload?  Also, is your CPU single dual or quad core and is it AMD or Intel?

Hey George, thanks for your respose.

The preview gets longer actually when I use effects or fades; else they are fine.
As asked by you, my Dell Inspiron is two years old.
It is Quad Core with i5 and RAM 6GB.

Hey Anirban,

I don't know if you have tried MEP 2014, but preload is super fast, no need to "pre-render" clips, and exporting files is much faster.  Try it with some of the projects you are having problems with, I think you will see a big difference.  If you plan to stick with MEP, this version has the biggest improvements by far.
