Premium 2022 - Saving sections and favourites?

I have several questions since upgrading to the new version a couple of days ago.

1. How do you tag a loop as a favorite? Has this been removed? Damn shame if they have!!!!! So much easier to identify loops that you want to reuse for future tracks. (there must be a way, so if someone can help, please help)!

2. I like the beatbox, but cant see what difference the pro version has..... cant find any info about it, and not going to purchase something that I don't know the full capability of.

3. In the bottom area where the beatbox is and the songmaker, I can add other parts to that, for example, the template and object effects.... lovely, BUT............ when you close the program down, it doesnt retain the sections you have added. Is there a way to have them there after you close down and re-open?? If not, then thats **** and needs to change.

4. Whats happened with adjusting the track? I can't seem to drag the volume down or up precisely to what i want. I have to right click and choose volume, which irritates me as its a step backwards to last years version!! WHO makes these odd decisions???

I just found the heart icon when i move the section further to the left !!!! Must be my screen! Thanks for the tip though :)

17 drum kits, might be worth taking a closer look to purchase this. thank you

Adjustments dont make a difference, I add my sections and it doesnt save them :( Heres a screenshot, not that it makes any difference i am sure, it just doesnt save the sections i add for some reason :(

@David-Pook I just placed every section under its own tab and it stays that way even after restarting the program.

Just to add, when attempting to adjust the volume, my mouse pointer is an icon of a hand when hovering over the track and on top of the volume line, it DOES NOT change to a forward and backward facing arrow to allow you to precisely pick up the volume line and drag it to where you want. This also applies to the track length, so I am unable to show a backward and forward facing arrow to allow me to be precise. ONLY the track length can be adjusted but using an icon of a hand, which is not precise and quite often I miss the track edge to allow me to drag it into position, it works, but not like before and my precision is crap because of this.

Anyone has a solution? Please let me know because at the moment, I have paid for something that doesnt work as well as it did before. I could uninstall it and go back to premium 2021, but I would only do this as a very last resort.

Perhaps this is a bug and it needs reporting? If so, where do I report this??

I've just tested on my installation of MM 2022 Premium and I can see, and move, the arrow symbol both when wanting to adjust the volume of a clip and when needing to extend or shrink a clip. So this seems to be a problem unique to your system, I think.

I'm not sure you will be easily able to uninstall it and go back to premium 2021 unfortunately since, the 2021 version is uninstalled before the 2022 installation begins.

One thought (which may, or may not be relevant): you say you upgraded to the 2022 version, which implies that you paid for the upgrade and received a new serial key? Is that correct? If you did not pay then you do not have the 2022 Premium version, sorry, but rather the 2022 Free version; the new serial key is what unlocks the new Premium features. Many of the features you had with the 2021 version are still available but, with the purchase of the upgrade comes a number of updates to features, instruments, soundpools etc. I notice you said earlier that you were unsure of whether Beatbox Pro was worth the cost. This feature is automatically part of the paid for upgrade process; the fact you are considering buying it does suggest you are not actually running the version you think you are and this may be contributing to the other problems you are experiencing.

Here is a screenshot when i open Music Maker. As far as i am aware, this is the premium 2022 version, which I have paid for as an upgrade from Premimum 2021 which was uninstalled as part of the installation process for 2022

If I am wrong, great, at least I can sort something out, BUT..... am pretty sure its the newest version AND i did install the serial number for it. If i haven't please tell me what to do, because I have a high end PC, which has 12 cores as the CPU and 64Gb RAM.... but..... perhaps I need to reinstall music maker??

Notice the highlighted differences between mine and yours (and by the way, for your own security I would strongly urge you to edit your image to remove or obscure your email address.) Maybe the problem is because you are not actually using the latest version?

But my version says its up to date. I tried to manually update via the Help menu, it wasnt having any of it...... it thinks its up to date!!

Nothing else for it but to reinstall I think. Not what i expect from Magix that should have tested this program.

Ok its now reinstalled.

VOLUME = WORKS.... i can now adjust it perfectly and precisely.

VERSION = WORKS and is now fully up to date.

SECTIONS = NO..... still doesnt save the object effects and templates sections in the bottom part of the screen.

FAVOURITES = NO..... after i adjust that box so i can see the heart icon. Close the program and open up again, I still have to slide it across so i can see the heart icon.

 

My screen resolution is 3840x2160

I will NOT change this for any program. ALL programs should work outta the box for my screen resolution. It may not be this, but I am lost as to why the program wont save the added sections. WHY WHY WHY ?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear you're now getting somewhere!

I honestly have no suggestion to make about the Favourites, but how, exactly, are you trying to add those Sections? Are you using the View>Window menu option? Have you tried to do this by clicking on the icons on the "ribbon" area? I've not tried via that View menu but have had no problem using those icons to activate/deactivate various "sections" and add them to the lower part of the screen..

I have tried the menu and the ribbon area and also shortcuts. They all add the sections i want, it just doesnt retain them after closing the program down. Bit of a bug i suspect, but i dont expect this on a release. maybe for an alpha or beta release, but not a paid version.

OK.... I HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM........

 

When starting music maker, do NOT EVER click on NEW PROJECT..... whatever you saved wont be there. HOWEVER..... clicking on CONTINUE to go to the main program, WILL retain any sections you have added or resized.

Its that simple..... its definitely a BUG. Where do i report this???

To raise a support ticket/report a bug go to this page and carefully follow the links (after that first page) to "Ask Support".

However, I cannot reproduce this!  Clicking on New Project opens the initial workscreen in the same layout and settings as I previously closed it. So again, unfortunately, I think this might be something unique to your system, sorry, unless other users can reproduce it.

Thanks for the help though Jeff. Its been reported now, so see if they can reproduce it. They have the specs of my machine, and I don't think its that, I would be surprised considering its a beast of a machine!!

Hopefully they will acknowledge there is a bug for potentially some people, and a fix will be put in place on the next update.
