Problem with Music adding to pro 17 Video program...

I just bought this program and have been working with it none stop for the last few days. I was able to add music very easily to my videos by just dragging the file from the upper media pool from my Audio Cd drive to my Track in the edit window. All of the sudden it wants me to record via microphone to get my music from my audio cd? I dont have a microphone and have no idea how to get it back to the way that was working..this as frozen my entire project.. Does anyone know how to help? Thanks!

Is it the same CD?

Maybe it’s some sort of copy protection. CDs should need a microphone to record them as the file on the CD is a digital file.

I recommend that you use Windows Media Player (since everyone has that who has a PC) to rip the track you want for the project to your hard drive, and then load that file from the hard drive to the project.
