If your previous version was 2019 or earlier it is more than possible your computer no longer meets the current computer specifications to run the current version of program.
If you turn off the ability to use any hardware assisted processing in the program settings and don't use the Direct X option but use the Compatibility Mode for Windows instead you should then get images displaying again.
